Technology Initiatives and Resources Unit is committed to Empowering the Evolution of the Education in Arkansas. The Arkansas Department of Education core missions of education, research, and service through the effective management and use of information technology resources are the foundation elements by which this unit operates.
Empower: We are dedicated to providing Arkansas with the Technology services it needs to fulfill its commitment to research and education of the highest quality.
Evolve: We anticipate and meet the information technology needs of students, educators, schools, districts and staff as they pursue their educational and professional goals.
Educate: We collaborate with the educational community in our design, development, and Maintenance of an effective, flexible, and reliable technology infrastructure, and in our provision of Technology tools and training support that meet their evolving needs.
We promote the personal growth and professional excellence of Arkansas’s educators. We respect and value the input, opinions and importance of all members of the community.
In fulfilling this mission the Technology Resources and Initiatives will continue to acquire and maintain adequate information resources, offer effective instruction on the retrieval and use of digital resources in all formats and aspires to assist the educational community in its commitments to the broader community, by developing innovative approaches to supporting lifelong learning. Technology resources will continue to meet the challenges of the 21st century and of ever changing technological and global society.
